What if manifesting wasn’t just about thinking positive thoughts—but actually rewiring your brain, tapping into your intuition, and co-creating with the universe?

We’re joined by the renowned Colette Baron-Reid, bestselling author, intuitive, and Oracle Card expert. She’s helped millions of people learn how to tune into the unseen world and build a direct, personal dialogue with the universe.

And trust us…this conversation is next level.

We dive into Colette’s newest book, The Art of Manifesting, and explore how creativity, intention, and even doodling can shift your reality in ways you may have never considered. If you’ve ever felt stuck, disconnected from your intuition, or unsure how to actually “work with the universe,” this episode is for you.

Here’s the truth: you’re not separate from the magic, you’re part of it.

WHAT WE TALK ABOUT

  • How Colette discovered her intuitive gifts—and the challenges that came with them
  • The connection between intuition, addiction recovery, and healing
  • Why manifestation is NOT just about visualization
  • How creativity can literally rewire your brain
  • The idea of a “shared field of consciousness” (and how we all have access to it)
  • How to start building your own direct relationship with the universe
  • Practical ways to trust your intuition (even if you think you don’t have one)

THE BIG TAKEAWAY
Manifestation isn’t about controlling outcomes, it’s about co-creating with something greater. When you learn how to listen, trust, and engage with the unseen guidance around you, life starts to feel less like something that’s happening to you, and more like something you’re actively creating with.

So to really have this time with you in person is such a treat for us. So thank you so much for joining. We can't wait to talk about the book and all the latest you just keep adding to your you rei of wonderful things to share with all of us. can we just start, like for anyone who's listening right now who might not.

Know about your background and the whole intuitive way that you approach life and your work. Tell us what kind of opened the door for you to realize that you had this ability to communicate with the quote unquote unseen world.

Colette: Okay, so I've been like this since I was a kid, but I think that I wanna fast forward to when I was 26, 27 because the life that I had prior to that was me incapable of dealing with the fact that I didn't know where I ended and everybody else began, Because that's part of being able to tune into [00:03:00] information that's available to all of us, by the way, because it's part of the shared field of consciousness. I wouldn't have known that. But I got into trouble with drugs and alcohol very early on, even though I was very smart in school, I ended up in law school that didn't work out, obviously.

, I really did have a lot of serious mental health issues. But anyway, I got clean and sober. So I ended up I always say the express train into recovery, because I was a cocaine addict.

This was in the eighties when cocaine we were told it wasn't addictive. Ha. And I was in the music business at the time so the lifestyle that went around with that was really soul destroying. But my friends used to call me four one one because I would just know things.

4 1 1 was what you would call for information, please, on the. Phone.

Robyn: For people who these days have no idea what we're talking about. That's

Colette: right. I'm old. I'm gonna be 68 this July. listen, I was around before there was an internet. kids still played outside. Y all were,

Karen: Yeah. We all were.

Colette: So I'm 40 years clean and sober now. Just I thought I'd throw that in and that means that for 40 years I've been [00:04:00] working a spiritual program that has included an obsession for how we create reality. Why is it that when I change myself and automatically my nervous system changes, et cetera, that all of a sudden more becomes available to me and that is exactly how things went.

And it wasn't overnight by any stretch of the imagination, but at the same time, when I got clean and sober. I was hanging out in church basements with other recovering addicts and alcoholics. And as a whole group, like of friends, we ended up going to two things. One Unity church because it was cool.

And they played guitar and they meditated They teach classes on something called treasure mapping.

Now, this is 40 years ago. I'm brand new sober, and I find this thing that in the . Tibetans for meditation. So I was doing cover that, Ooh, what is this? What is this manifestation thing that this is so I became obsessed with doing what now became vision boards.

They called them treasure maps where they were an artistic depiction of [00:05:00] intention. most of what I teach now is something that took so long to learn and I really believe that all of our attempts to describe manifestation because of the way human beings are built.

It's very difficult to learn. And what was taught was incomplete. So I really feel that no one's fault, but a lot of people found, wow, this really works. And then, wow, that didn't work at all. Or wow, I must have done something wrong. it's became this bizarre blame game of I'm not doing it right.

What did I do wrong? Oh, you must have manifested that, blah, blah, blah. So nobody really took into account anything like the way society is constructed, how people are impacted by their conditioning. When we come. With a sense of entitlement to our environment because we're privileged or something, or whether we are born in a situation where we've never actually been exposed to abundance, which also impacts us, right?

So nobody has ever addressed any of those [00:06:00] things until not too long ago. And I'm not the only person that's talking about this, But over the years, what I learned was that you can change yourself because if you become the person that has greater access to more it is a reflection of that which you are.

My big thing. Important we don't manifest what we want. We manifest what we are, what we broadcast, what we rehearse.

And that has to do with so many factors and I will say that I've always known because vision boards and those techniques were always art based. I made a living as an artist early on in my recovery. And I just talk about my recovery. 'cause I think life started for me 40 years ago really.

And so painting, drawing, art. I started painting again during the pandemic. I hadn't picked up a paintbrush for 30 years. but some form of art has been very important to me, whether it be dance, whether it be music.

So art in some form has [00:07:00] impacted me in a way that has kept me sane. And kept my nervous system In some type of a coherent alignment when I'm not doing something artistic. So doodling. Can we go to doodles?

Robyn: Yes, let's go to doodling. And your new book. The Art of Manifesting. Okay. Yes, let's do it.

Colette: I broke my foot a couple years ago. Now I should say I'm a real science nerd and I do not sell myself as a scientist. I am a curious person that likes to share what I learn with other people, I never teach anything that I don't know personally, that I haven't either overcome or done something and I don't pretend to be a therapist.

'Cause I'm not, I studied Jung in psychology, but that doesn't make me a therapist and it's not necessary. I think it's really important I share personal experience with people. and it's anecdotal, but I can show you how to have the same experience.

So when I broke my foot a couple years ago and I got stuck in bed and I couldn't stand in front of a canvas. 'cause really during the pandemic I had such terrible anxiety [00:08:00] that painting was the only thing that helped. Nothing helped me. I, did EMDR. I got re-traumatized. And I really do think because my parents were traumatized in World War II when they came to Canada.

'cause I'm the daughter of immigrants, they never talked about it. They never dealt with anything. Their PTSD was just shoved down and I had a lot of violence and things like that, were, I think in some way, it was all because of the drugs and the alcohol. But my mom had experiences during the war that I then went and had.

So there's when you are not aware of your ancestral patterning trauma comes up.

It's a body thing. You don't feel safe. it doesn't matter how it shows up, it's fight, flight, freeze, fawn, attach So painting made it go away, like my arm to the thing. and I did prayer painting. So I did paintings that became an Oracle card deck. But I also did frequency art , which have 1,110 prayer dots on the painting.

So when I pray I dot the painting and it becomes That's so

Robyn: cool.

Colette: But I couldn't [00:09:00] stand in front of a canvas, so I'm interested in line art. I'm like, I know nothing about it really.

I run across all kinds of different versions of it, zentangle, which was super beautiful, And then I found this Russian thing called Neuro graphica, but it was so many rules. I didn't like that.

but then I started seeing classes being taught by teachers for seven year olds. So I was like, I do, I can do that. That's good Then I found something called the neuro arcs, right? So I started studying it. So I realized, wait a second, why is it that I felt so different painting?

Why is it that I could disappear? Why is it the, when I write music, I feel different? Why is it when I sing? what is all of these things? So I went down a rabbit hole 'cause I had nothing better to do and did all this scientific research on this because there was lots of it out there. So Richard Doty was he died. I, oh, I could, I was like, Ugh, how can you die? Anyway, , he wrote into the Magic Shop, and he talked about the Science [00:10:00] Behind Manifestation, and it was the first time somebody had been writing about this.

for me, because I am a metaphysics person, I'm a person who, I'm a spiritual person. I'm all about that conscious universe that interacts with us. He definitely wrote about that, but I wanted to take it a step further and see how does this work? If it's true that we don't manifest what we want, we manifest what we are and what we rehearse, and the universe doesn't give a shit basically, which it is, right?

If you're gonna be evil and you keep rehearsing that, and if there's enough people doing it with you, we're gonna show you lots of that. All you people are gonna see it too, Because that's how it is. It's a mirror. The universe acts as a big, giant mirror and will show us whatever we rehearse over time.

That's why populations can be controlled so easily through fear.

Colette: So it's how do we get our agency back given that all of this crap is going on now with AI and I talk about skims underwear because it's the best kind. It fits my butt. And it [00:11:00] shows up all of a sudden on my screen when I said it out loud to a friend on the phone.

All of a sudden I've got ads for the underwear all over the place. I'm like, something's listening to me, obviously. . So it's showing me anything they thinks I think about is gonna show me that. But then I'm gonna be in an echo chamber and in this tiny little thing where I can't make my own decisions.

Because I'm constantly being fed, oh, here, do this, consume that. Read this over here. Oh, it looks like you like that. . This is what the world is. So I learned that if I could do this, doodle art and practice a feeling state stuff happened.

so I met this woman, Anna Denning, who is a teacher of a bunch of different styles of art. She also taught the Russian thing. And I went to her and said, I have this other thing that I'm developing, it's really cool and has no rules and this is about manifesting and are you interested in chatting with me about it?

And she was like, yes. And then were like, now we have to test this because if this is real, we gotta teach it to other people and see, so two years later, here we are, the book out [00:12:00] and we know it works. And it works in a way that is shocking and that is shocking because we get the version of what we say we want in ways that are so uncanny.

But they are very rarely exactly the way we think it's gonna come, or in the form. And nobody ever taught me that.

Robyn:

Colette: thought I was doing it wrong.

Robyn: I think that is key. Don't

Colette: none of us are doing it wrong.

We're doing it right every time we've all been doing it.

It's just we didn't know how to understand what was happening was working and why. And Anna my partner in this, and she became my partner in it. She didn't start that way, but in the end was like, why don't we just do this whole thing together? Is this like you're, she's so smart.

She is a total research nerd like me, like our idea of porn is quantum physics. You know what I'm saying? Did you read that in Won

Robyn: Join the Club, please.

Karen: We're part of that right there with you. And just footnote for people listening. In Colette's book, throughout the book you write nerd, alert, nerd [00:13:00] learn.

Here we go. You're constantly, yeah. You're constantly weaving that in and Robyn and I can attest. That's some of our favorite stuff too. So keep going. Keep going.

Colette: I'll be honest, I spent most of my career because I'm an intuitive and I could see things and then I became a medium And I used to tell people, I don't really do this. I'm really a singer. that's not part of my plan. But the universe had a plan you have this conception of the intelligentsia that this wasn't smart and that we're somehow grifters because, we're sharing something that doesn't have any gravitas.

And I was like, let's go get some fricking gravitas. And if it's not there, then we can say, okay, it's anecdotal and we're gonna do it anyway. But I really wanted to prove this because Doty began the whole conversation. we should have said the book was for him. But ultimately, in the holographic universe, Michael Talbot, who also died, who I got to meet.

 Nobody's brought art in the

Robyn: conversation. A thousand percent. And just for those who don't know, Richard Doty, he was a neurosurgeon who then [00:14:00] used Manifest. Who was able,

Colette: he was into what I did.

Robyn: Exactly. I just want people to hear that because what you're talking about is combining art with neuroscience and spirituality.

Colette: I don't believe that you can separate the physical world from the spiritual world. Like for me, and I get it, it's language for some people it gets into religion and then it gets weird.

But ultimately the universe is conscious. I'm an animist. I believe that everything is a living thing and everything has a spirit. And It has a form of consciousness. It may not be conscious and aware, like I've bladed grass isn't gonna go high, Colette, unless I'm on acid, in which case, which I won't be 'cause I'm sober 40 years.

You know what I'm saying?

Robyn: You can do that without being on acid.

Colette: right. No, exactly right. everything is alive and we are connected to all of life. And we move into the concept of morality sometimes when we talk about spirit, but spirit is really life. And what we decide is good or bad or right or wrong, is something else other than [00:15:00] consciousness. Reality. Ancient civilizations figured it out.

We just decided to forget about it. But all the old technologies. Art, for example, doodling as a communication language came before spoken language because you couldn't communicate like wasn't your tribe, didn't talk to the same dialect, didn't know you could draw in the sand. so there are universal shapes that are in our DNA that we recognize. Babies recognize balls are safe arrows not so much. You know what I mean? Like the baby, will grab the ball before it'll grab the sharp object That's in the research, So in us as human beings, we recognize certain shapes are safe, certain shapes tell us something that is about birth, fertility, unity, spirit.

But our ancient ancestors knew that they could have a dialogue through either dance music, like rain dances. They could scratch before the bison inside the cave wall before they went out and bring me this, like they focused on it, they saw [00:16:00] themselves there and boom. So they were always in a communication with a power greater themselves because there is a power greater than us.

We are not the power.

Robyn: Exactly.

Colette: Coming to the doodling. ' So when you put a mark on paper, you're embodying and at the same time you are rehearsing a state of being. And we start with gratitude. And the easiest way to do it, and for anybody who's interested the book teaches you a lot of different things.

But Yeah. If you know how to draw a wavy line in a circle that looks like a potato, you can do this. Exactly. It's trust me or stick figures. You can do this because it's not about art. Even though it actually, the more you do it, it turns into something pretty beautiful. But if you can remember gratitude actually, why don't we try that right this second?

Yes. Everybody can together. So have either one of you had kids?

Robyn: Yes.

Colette: Okay. So when you had a baby outside of it hurting, and then all of a sudden it was out of the pain, when you looked at the baby smelled, the baby looked into its eyes, were you not filled with gratitude and awe?

Karen: Oh. To the [00:17:00] point of sobbing.

Robyn: Yes.

Colette: sobbing. Some people feel the same feeling when they see the Grand Canyon for the first time.

Or when, like for me, I've never had children. It's the dog I rescue. I see that dog's eyes and when I click oh my God, this feeling that I had, this knowing that something beautiful and amazing and I got to do it and whatever.

So gratitude mixed with wonder or awe is a feeling every human being has access to. All of us have had that feeling at least once in our life. I'm gonna invite you to go back there for a second. Just to go back to the feeling state.

So if you go back to that feeling of being grateful, unbelievably grateful, and you draw with that. Now, I won't go through the processes that are in the book, 'cause we probably don't have to time. But if you just start doodling and feel that and just draw some circles, let's just draw some circles.

Feeling that feeling. And let's just draw a circle and go round and trace the circle. Like I said, it does not [00:18:00] need to look good. It can look like a blobby thing. Just feel the feeling and go round and round with your hand and just say thank you under your breath.

Just doing this for three minutes, even two minutes. don't you feel different?

Karen: Yes. Yes.

Colette: And don't you feel like, I wonder what's coming? Yes.

Karen: It's very soothing and it's very calming at the same time.

Colette: Yeah. So most of us attempt to try to, like, when people come to the concept of manifestation, especially right now, let's be honest.

And my husband reminds me of this, he goes, Colette there's something that you've been saying every year there's been a new thing.

He says, it seems new, but there's always been some type of crisis, and it's interesting, but we always think it's a brand new one. But it is. It's new because it's new, but it's Not really new. Okay. We're gonna either be in a state of fear and needing to control an outcome.

I come to manifesting because I want to [00:19:00] manifest in control and certainty. So it's gonna be Uber Eats to me. Gimme that. I see that there, I'm gonna focus on it right now, fixate and all the details. I'm gonna see every little hair on that thing. And then you're gonna be completely devastated when it doesn't come right, because it, that's true.

Won't come if you're attached to it and whatever. And it is gonna give you something to fixate on and be more afraid of. Because actually now you're questioning whether the universe is even listening when it listens all the time. and if you have lots and lots of attachment and wanting something, it's just gonna give you more wanting,

Karen: right?

Colette: It's gonna reflect the lack

More and more. Because you won't be able to see the thing staring you in the face when it arrives, because you're in lack, So you practice that often enough, you're not gonna see what you want. Because what you want is something you have to be. Oh, I am the person that has this thing. I am so grateful that I am the person that has this. I am so grateful that the universe speaks to me and I speak to it, and there's a conversation going back and forth here. So let's [00:20:00] go back to our little drawing. Okay. So let's say we come to this instead with this idea, but we're not really trusting it.

And that's okay because we can just trust a feeling. I can trust that I'm gonna feel good when I am in that gratitude and awe, because then I have many more memories coming up and then I realize I'm just that. Just as a starting point, so the universe is gonna hear this and it does, it's always listening and it's always reflecting back just like a big ai, right?

You're doing great, you're saying this over and over again. I've learned that I'm gonna get it to you. So this is exactly how it works.

and it will come to you in a way that's right for you. What you think you want may not be right for you. Yeah. Or maybe you still need a long road and a few more detours before you can get there.

Karen: Yeah. You talk a lot about that in the book, Colette. the thing I'm thinking of too is often it's good to do this manifestation exercise with things that you don't want to badly.

Colette: no, it works best when you don't really care.

Karen: I wanna find a pink blouse to wear to the party next [00:21:00] weekend and I'm gonna go out shopping.

And then it just, somehow, it just shows up. 'cause it would be nice, but it's not the end of the world if it doesn't happen.

Colette: That's so smart, what you just said. Doing it was something you're not to attach to and nothing so huge, because I did vision boards for 20 years about my record deal, and by the time I didn't get it, I hated the thing.

I didn't want it anymore. F you, what do I care? I'm not that screw. And then the next thing you know I'm going to bed at nine o'clock and I get a record deal. Hello. Why is this happening to me?

Karen: it's like the story of the woman who wants to get pregnant and it gives up and gets the dog instead.

Then you're energetically in that loving, feeling of motherhood and then it comes.

Colette: Yeah. You get the dog and then you have a baby.

Robyn: I was gonna use this example too I started reading your book on a plane. Okay. And. What ended up happening on that plane is we ended up being delayed three hours without wifi like in the middle of nowhere.

And the thing was I was with my daughter and my husband. we had an appointment that we had to get to in this other [00:22:00] city by a certain time, and we were leaving with plenty of time. A normal circumstances to get there. I'm reading your book.

One of the things that you say in it in the very beginning is, everything I need comes to me in divine timing. Thank you. literally kept writing that over and over as I'm sitting there starting to freak out a little bit that we were gonna be late. And then I started doing some of the exercises and I was doing it with the intention that everything's gonna work out.

So no matter what happened, if we made the appointment, if we didn't make the appointment, it would be okay. And we ended up landing with 20 minutes to get to this appointment and we made it there on time. I'm saying that because it wasn't like the biggest deal in the whole world.

Colette: No. But if you notice when you're so stressed, everything gets even later. Like when you get into that stress mode, you meet other stress out people who are mean, and like everybody the whole world becomes a stress ball, This big hairball of yuck. But when all of a sudden it's okay this is what's [00:23:00] going on.

I'm gonna calm myself down now.

Robyn: And it really Did you, this really worked. It's the seven steps of manifestation. And you take people in this book with this am method through seven weeks of manifesting and really getting into the practice

Karen: I think for the people who are listening you can't find a person who doesn't say manifesting these days, but the way you come about it is it's almost like a course that it is built in.

'Cause it, as Robyn said, it goes over weeks of time. But what I love that you introduce is this sort of art of play of it's like an artistic meditation that you introduce to people. 'cause I was a little apprehensive about that. I'm. not even a doodler But the allowing of you being able to just draw what comes is just a beautiful way to teach people how to tap in to their own internal energy and to allow that to translate externally without thinking about it.

Yeah, and I think to your point earlier, we're overthinking the manifestation with the vision board and all these [00:24:00] things where this just allows us to tune into the frequency of what we're desiring. And that is a totally different way,

Colette: very different. And it's not efforting,

 A partnership.

The other thing that is about this, is that. You embody it, So when you are doing doodling and you know the drawing process that we teach you in there, which is so easy, your body gets into it. So your mirror neurons are going, I don't know, this isn't real. This thing I'm feeling. And then it's, you become it, So all of a sudden, the reticular activating system of your brain, which is like the bouncer at the party, who's I had a guest list that said, fear, judgment, anger, gossip, all that stuff was in there, but now I gotta get rid of them all because you're grateful and then you're in awe. Okay? So now I gotta take your eyeballs and I'm gonna start looking out there, and that's all I'm gonna see.

Reasons to be grateful ' cause the universe is abundant with literally everything but our relationship to [00:25:00] it, our brain receives like it's not an inside our noggin and it's in there. And that's how we think we receive, we broadcast frequency. That's why we call it frequency art,

'cause we're drawing the frequency of our broadcast and we're receiving the information back. I can't receive anything when I am stressed out and I'm worried about things I can't receive anything except another reason for me to go on patrol. Totally. You know what I mean? And this is oh I, oh is that a good idea?

So the trick is to recognize where we have power and where we don't, like I can't do anything about what's going on external. Do what you can for you, and then find a way in that which you can create the life you want inside that whole thing. Because both can happen at the same time. Now, obviously not, if you're right in the center of something where you're not safe, then you should be running for the hills.

But most of us that are listening to this podcast are watching all of that on our TV screens, or our computers, right? Or our phones. We are [00:26:00] not in that, and we can contribute in a way the more of us contribute our joy, our calm, our hope, our faith. And wow, this universe will respond. We have agency and sovereignty all over again, and all of a sudden, wait a sec, we can actually make a difference.

But when we're seeing all of that, we don't think we have any way to make a difference. We just get more mad and find somebody else to blame.

Robyn: That's right.

And you're allowing that fear to take over. Whereas if you make this other effort

Colette: Yeah,

Robyn: do work on yourself, you are rewiring your brain, which I think, you started to talk about, but you literally are rewiring your brain and breaking patterns by using this without thinking,

Karen: that is the thing because I captured that thought that you shared about the thought virus.

And I thought, that's so powerful. How, my mom always used to say what you think about growth, right? Whatever you focus on growth, this thought virus of that fear infiltrating [00:27:00] your every thought, and then all your thoughts become fear,

Colette: Without talking about headlines, because I find that boring but certain headlines have created a fixation for people's attention where they're not seeing people who should be.

Punished or taken to task for the thing. So they go find other people, right? and there's a wave. I watched the wave happen, like this happens and then, oh, I can't see that working out, so I'm gonna go find other people to go after. It's this whole weird mob psychology that happens too when we get swept up and we don't see justice perform, for example, or things that we want to have happen in our lives, but that hijacks us.

So although both are true. Yes, this is happening. Yes, we see these things. Yes, we would like it to be different, but we can't make it different by staring at that, it's not bypassing. I acknowledge all of this is there. It's very much alive. Thanks very much. I'm gonna make this [00:28:00] alive now. And the more I make that alive, it's gonna have way more power than that over there.

'cause I am part of it. And other people will see it. You will change. People will wonder, why are you so happy when all this crap is going on? Because I'm practicing that and I'm, that's part of my practice and I'm doodling it sounds kooky, but it works.

Karen: I love it.

That's,

Colette: and it's so simple, which is also weird. I'll tell you from funny story, so when the book first came out, this is my favorite story and I think it only happened so I could tell the story.

So I've always said, oh, I don't care about things like the New York Times because I'm a weird author. Like my stuff is very niche and Oracle cards, whatever. So I'm like, ah, it is what it is, right? It is what it is. And I'll, I never wanted one, I never thought about it until this book.

And then I'm like, okay, I'll admit it. It would be cool if this got to be a New York Times best seller. It would be so cool. So I say that I draw it. I write New York Times in a bubble, in one of my synchronicity bubbles. And then I call, thank [00:29:00] God I have a witness in this. I called and showed the picture to my head of my brand and we just both laughed.

'cause I said, maybe in a couple years this could happen. 'cause I really think this is organic, that people really need to get the hang of this thing. It's not gonna be overnight. And we left it alone. And two hours later, Beth writes me and says, it's very uncanny. The New York Times has your book and they'd like to invite you to come and teach at their Healthy Times program.

And I just about poop my pants. Are you kidding? But the funny thing is this, the universe was okay, we can't give you a New York Times bestseller, but we can give you the New York Times and you can get on a plane and go there and the whole motive, remember the part of the book is what's your motive for wanting some.

For me, a New York Times bestseller would mean that I reached more people. That's what I thought it would mean. It means that people were discovering this thing. I did. I got 20 people came

Karen: So think about the institution of the New York Times. Yeah. Having the openness.

Colette: I gotta go there. I did, [00:30:00] change the way they described it internally, that it was like sketching for wellness. so it was a really meaningful experience for me. I got to say I did it, but the point is that the universe gave me what I was capable of.

Robyn: Correct.

Colette: It was the New York Times,

Robyn: actually.

The New York. And you ended up influencing however many people that day there, which influences so many others. So

Colette: I could also tell the story over and over again on podcasts. and the other one was we wanted a condo in Toronto because we're pretty isolated where we are and our internet is not good.

And so we needed an office in Toronto where we could also stay over. So we were looking for these places and we got turned down by five of them. It made no sense. 'cause I have the best credit rating. I'm neurotic about paying bills about da. And our realtor was like, I don't understand this, why you're not getting these places?

And I'm like, I don't get it either. Maybe it's just a no. Maybe the universe is just flat out saying no, and I have to just suck it up. 'cause that can happen too. So I'm like, I never did a drawing, did I? I So I had been to this area of the [00:31:00] city before and I was not attracted to it at all.

I drew the drawing I do a little house and like little, happy faces. We are happy. This is wonderful. There's water. I did connect that there would be water.

If I didn't buy water? I wouldn't go. and if it's not that, we'll just say, okay, fine. We have a great place and we'll just have to find better internet. She says, oh, there's two units at this building. I went, what building is this? I said, I don't wanna go there. Why would we go there? It's a construction, it's awful.

right? She goes, no, come on, it's a nice day. And Mark was with me and I'm like, yeah, come on. Let's just go. I'm went. alright. But I'm not gonna like it. I'm just gonna tell you that right now. So I had asked for a big billboard, by the time we're at this new building, I'm so like, okay, fine. It's not for us. Why are we even here? We get to this place. The get into the unit is my address. Like I have a six number address in the middle of nowhere. It's like, how do you know my address? But that was the code to get into this unit.

So I get into the unit and I'm like, it's soundproof. You can't hear [00:32:00] anything. And I'm like, what? So we go in and it is perfect. So I say to my husband, oh my God. And then he goes it's a little expensive. for the hell of it, let's look at the other place. Why would we look at the other place?

It has our number right here that you're making it complicated. Why? He goes, just trust me. I went, okay. So we go down to this other one, much smaller, a little more humble, thank you. better for us, affordable. But every single window just looked at the water and there was no construction there.

Robyn: Wow.

Colette: And I'm like, are you serious now? and it accepted us right on the spot. And I went to the drawing that I had done and I could actually see, I had no idea that I drew the windows facing.

Robyn: Wow.

Colette: And the windows face East Wow. I looked at the thing and I drew this really weird winding footpath, which was totally there that I never saw before.

Wow. left to my own devices. I wanted to manifest something specific I was attached to and I wrote the book. Okay. And I had a temper [00:33:00] tantrum.

Robyn: that's the less, but that's the point. Everyone needs to hear that. That's the point. Yes. It, the universe always has a way of aligning you with what .

That is. . Right next move for your pound. , If you let it,

Karen: let

Colette: it,

Karen: the universe will always also deliver you something that might even be better

Robyn: Exactly.

Karen: Than what you visualize. Yes. It delivers that to you as well. So being open and that to attached to the outcome of what that actually

Colette: Yeah.

Karen: Is

Colette: Totally. But I was attached. and had I stayed attached and got my way, I would not have seen what was perfect for me. And so many of us do that. Because it wouldn't have been good enough.

Robyn: So

Colette: true. It wouldn't have been, oh, but I want this, and this is close to our friends and we used to live here before, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Robyn: It's so true.

Karen: But I also love the universe almost gave you a preview of what it was going to deliver. In that drawing that you didn't see until after? Yeah. 'cause I

Colette: didn't think when I [00:34:00] drew it

Karen: right, I just

Colette: drew along and I just did. And then if it's and at that point I was like, okay, I'm so tired of being disappointed, but I'm gonna draw it anyway.

Bring it to me if it is. And if it's not, I'm okay. Just show me a big billboard so I don't have to keep guessing. And they showed me a big billboard, but it was the craziest thing. even my realtor, she goes, this is weird. This is your address.

Robyn: That's weird. those are the signs.

And she sold me this house. Those are the signs. When Karen and I met one of the craziest things that had, we had worked together for months, didn't, but hadn't really gotten personal and something happened and it really allowed me to be more vulnerable. Karen, more vulnerable. She sends me this deck she'd been working on.

' cause we both had this idea, which really ended up blossoming into Seeking Center. And when she sent me the deck. I went to go save it on my computer. I loved everything about it. But then I go to save it and the name of the file was my father's birthday, those are my leading numbers in life.[00:35:00]

Colette: Yes.

Robyn: and I knew right then and there that date was super significant and I knew that I could feel it right then and there it was my dad blessing it and being like, you need to work with her.

And that was it. so those things have such Meaning.

Colette: The thing is too is that I love it when people say, that's just coincidence. I'm gonna, sure. Why not? That's a meaningful coincidence. Call it whatever you want. Jung called it synchronicity, sure. Add up all your coincidences, then come back and talk to me.

It's so interesting so what if the universe talks to you through coincidence?

Robyn: Yes.

Colette: It's okay, I don't care what you wanna call it.

Karen: Yes,

Colette: be as skeptical as you want. Just try it.

Robyn: Oh, so true. And synchronicity is such a big deal. And I know you mentioned Beth Grossman, and I know she's synchronicity girl too, and there's no doubt that we're meeting you at this time for a reason.

For meaning. Yeah. And for that book being introduced into our lives, and for anyone listening to the podcast, you're hearing this on purpose. The universe is serving it [00:36:00] up to you because there's a reason you need to pay a little more attention that this is something that you can be doing to, live a more fulfilled and aligned life, honestly,

Colette: in spite of what's going on.

because I think what happens is we get scared. Oh boy. And then there's all the virtue signaling. I'm always constantly, focused on all the negativity stuff because I'm a good person. that doesn't work either. Come on, we do what you can because this gives you the opportunity if you wanna go be an activist, when you start feeling calmer and grounded and you've got energy, you go do that.

That's not what I'm gonna do, but I'm gonna do it behind the scenes. I'm gonna do what I need to do behind the scenes I'm here to teach you something that I know will get your capacity to choose back online. Because there's no choosing when we are constantly being barraged with, you can't, it's not, this isn't safe.

All of the things that we are being bombarded with on a daily basis through the news and depending which echo chamber of news, 'cause I'm Canadian, but I [00:37:00] go to the States and I love America. I just wanna say this, I fricking love Americans. I love America. Thank

Karen: you.

Colette: I appreciate that

Karen: anymore.

Colette: I'm not booing you guys at a football game.

I, I'm for clamped, but I see this but you know what, I see what's happening. And then polarization . It's everywhere. But somebody is wanting us to be like that. It's not helping us. True. It's helping somebody that's not visible.

Karen: Like you said earlier, Colette, you can filter that to a certain extent, Yeah. Yes. You wanna know what's going on in the world and empathize with everything that's happening, and you wanna do what you can do. But it is that choice of like, how much of that am I gonna allow to infiltrate? You said something in the book that I wanted to ask you about that was such a cool.

Concept to me that , Robyn and I talk about all the time, but you named it and it's called the no sphere.

Colette: No sphere. No sphere. Okay. I did not, that is not my name. Everything in the book [00:38:00] was inspired by other people. Yes.

Karen: Explain

Colette: that. Okay. So Princeton University actually they've been studying this for many years actually.

They had these eggs, EEG machines all over the world, and they can track blips on it, right? So before 9 11, 12 hours before nine 11, all of us went up. Somehow our energy spiked. So typically it's prior to a world event or something. So they see that we are connected. like it all started with technology. You had the technosphere when machines happened. Then you had the cyber sphere, which is when we were connected, is about the sphere of connections. So this connection that we are all connected through the internet, That's the cyber thing. Then the Noah sphere consciousness is our collective consciousness that is online at the same time where you cannot say that we are not.

In tune with each other. That's why you have, like Lynn McTaggart should go on your show. have [00:39:00] you had her like she, we

Robyn: haven't had her on yet. Love her.

Colette: Yeah. Oh, you have to have her. But we love her. She's yes, because she's a science researcher and she's done the intention experiment.

these are real science researchers that have done this stuff. she's got the data.

 Where we can impact.

Plants at a distance when a group of us want to do that. There's intention experiment she did at university in Arizona, like really interesting. The other one you should is Rupert c Childre and his son that talked about the .

The fungus.

Robyn: Oh yeah. Mycelium. Yeah.

Colette: Like how we all communicate in nature. Yes. And we are part of nature, so we are just built, I think it's A fault. We are built to not see each other as connected like we are. We see the world separately. That's our default setting is separation.

We're born knowing that we are connected to all things and then we forget about it, and then we we've try to figure it out before we die.

Karen: And there's there's so much you touch on the first part of the book is so great because it is that cumulative.

How do I do this and what do I do with it? That's [00:40:00] fantastic. and throughout the book, we should also say, are these really great little exercises or just juicy little nuggets of ahas just like an encyclopedia of so many good things for all of us to learn.

Colette: We were worried because it's a smart book, right?

And it is a, and like a lot of people don't have a big attention span, but you don't have to be smart to do the book. But we did all the, here look at this thing that we found out and we tried to do it in as easy language as we could. I'm not saying I'm super smart, I'm just saying we're nerds and like we wanted to know what did the SmartyAnts say?

What does the research say?

Robyn: I loved it, I think that was a word that you used earlier in our conversation, which is curious, like Karen and I would consider ourselves curious as well. And so for those which I think you would be, if you're listening to this podcast, if you wanna pick up the book, you're curious and so you give enough.

Of that information for those of us who,

Colette: who want it,

Robyn: wanna be

Colette: smart and if you don't need [00:41:00] Exactly. And I forgot some of it already. So there you have it. somebody asked me the difference of hedonism, and I know it's eudomenia.

And I can't say it i'm like, I put it in there, but I can't even say it properly. So there you go. I'm not pretending. But I wanted to know is there anything that backs this up that we're learning about that we know and we're in history. 'cause there's lots of people claiming they're the ones who invented the wavy line.

I'm like, I don't think so. That was on ca a cave, circle in a waiting line goes back 600,000 words. Yes. And you

Robyn: write about that. And I was like,

Colette: yeah. I'm like, of course it does.

Robyn: That makes sense.

Colette: None of us own. These.

Robyn: Right.

Colette: cannot be owned. Our method is specific. Our method is trademark, but we can't trademark a circle in a wavy line, but it's what you make something mean can be something like, oh, that's the art of manifesting.

That's the AM method over here. Oh, this is Zentangle over here. Oh, that's graphica over there. Everybody uses lines, wavy things, circles of, but they use it for a different purpose. It's like a recipe [00:42:00] and McDonald's, hello. They're both hamburgers.

Karen: It's a different lens.

Robyn: I wanna ask one other question. obviously you're very well known for all of your Oracle cards and how do you use your Oracle cards in with

Colette: the drawing?

Robyn: Yes.

Colette: Yes. I will say, what do I need to know today about I'll pull a card for all of us today, for example.

Robyn: Okay.

Colette: Say, what do we need to know today to manage the energy of today? Because we only have 24 hours at a time, right? We can't manage tomorrow.

So what do I need to know to today?

To manage my energy for the highest good of all. That's the other really important piece. Yes. Because you can, the universe will listen closer if you're saying for the highest good of everybody. Yes. Not just me because we're connected to everybody. If it's just me, it makes it a little harder.

So I'm gonna pull a card. Great. So it says, so mountain is an obstacle, the obstacle card, but so it says any obstacle can be moved around, walk around it, like it's an opportunity for us to flow as opposed to go [00:43:00] at something. So then if that's true, then I'm going to say, I'll do a drawing with the intention that I would flow around any obstacle, so the drawing would look something like this.

Robyn: Oh wow. That's cool.

Colette: Like these are like flow lines. Oh my god. Like I would sit and do that, the other one, the circle drawing. I would do this. I would just keep going round and round and round and round and round and around until I'm stupified in gratitude. I'll actually show you a drawing that I did when I had a panic attack for a long time I have wanted to return to music. Even though I am older I'll be 68 and the music business is not available to me and I don't want it to be anyway 'cause this is my hobby but there was something about the fact that writing music is my thing.

I met these guys called the Koran Brothers of the Brothers Koran. They do these beautiful courses on how to reclaim the inner artist and they're really wise young men. They've opened for Pink and for Coldplay. They're brilliant musicians, brothers. Anyway, so I met them 'cause we were part of a leadership council together.

And they knew [00:44:00] I could sing. They heard my album, blah, blah, blah. So a year and a half it took for me to get up the consumption to go. So I went there and had a complete absolute panic attack. When I hit the hotel ah, who am I kidding? What am I doing? Oh my God. So I did a drawing. I do these things all the time, so it's going to, I'll show you what it looks like.

Oh, wow. Wow. So you see all the musical notes. I felt like I was in a box.

Robyn: Yep.

Colette: I just did all these flow lines and just said, thank you. Thank you. Going back to Thank you. And all I wanted was inspiration. So my intention was to be inspired. Wow. And doesn't matter what happened at the end of it.

So I just kept doing this. This was like an hour and a half drawing. You just like, just little line and then you just do little things. And I have happy faces everywhere. I love that you got notes and happy faces. the weirdest thing was is that after drawing this I felt very blank and I'm like, oh, this is weird. I thought I was gonna feel inspired, Because that's what I wanted was inspiration. But I didn't feel freaked out. I was blank. So on the way to the studio, [00:45:00] in my head I heard five different songs and I walked in 'cause we'd been working on some music at a distance, and I'm like, forget what we did.

I need you to play this chord right now and we ended up blown away by what we did together. Because I got outta my own way.

And it was like, I'm just gonna be really honest about what I wanna say in the music and whatever. I don't care. I'm going to be a 68-year-old woman with things to say and I'm gonna do it.

Robyn: that's what happens,

Colette: Women are told 50 plus that we should be invisible now.

Karen: Yeah. No. No, I think that's something that we're not the best work happens.

Colette: Kidding.

Karen: If I'm not gonna,

Colette: but I also know. If you start asking, what is my purpose? All you're doing is putting pressure on yourself.

Just do what you feel called to do and it doesn't mean you're not gonna be scared. Like I drew the drawing to be inspired and I went there thinking that if nothing's gonna happen, it's okay if I go home. What's the worst that's gonna happen is that I had a great run and [00:46:00] maybe it wasn't for me.

And that's also good that I could be free of this haunting sense that I had more music and made it out. And maybe then I could just set myself free from this. Yeah. And instead I'm like, wow, I'm doing a whole album now.

Robyn: That's so exciting.

And I'm glad you're sharing that for everybody who's listening.

open to the flow of

Colette: it, whatever the universe says, okay. Let

Robyn: go of

Colette: outcome. And you can still be scared.

Robyn: Yes. I think that's huge. The fact that had a panic attack and here you're as like someone who practices all of these different tools and you still get scared.

Colette: that's why I tell people, I always get tweaked I know, I understand Instagram and all that stuff, and when they get in there and try to sell you on their special programs, I get it. You gotta make a living. But you tell people like, instant results are coming and all this crap.

And I'm like, that's a lie. Tell the truth. We're human. And these technologies can work, but you're gonna feel certain things as you go. You're not [00:47:00] going to be invincible. be honest.

and do it, if you do it and somebody doesn't like it. they didn't have the balls to go do it too. That's not your problem.

Karen: you could have been done at your first Oracle deck and been like, okay, I did my thing.

Yeah, but you're opening yourself up to allowing this is the journey that I'm on. I'm gonna just share that with people. Like you said, the whole thing with COVID and the fear and working through the anxiety and all the, like how many people is that gonna help? Just because you followed the calling and then had the courage to share it with other people?

Colette: I just think it's important that we share our humanity. and I also believe too, so much that the guru thing's gotta go.

Karen: Oh

Colette: I have never do your own work. The teacher is there to give you information and don't put anybody on a pedestal.

'

Colette: Cause they're fallible people. Everybody is fallible. You included, me included. I think as a teacher, my job is to be as honest as I can. It's sometimes I'm gonna f up. But to give with transparency Hey, this thing I'm teaching you, I have trouble with [00:48:00] it too. But if you can just go the distance, you'll be blown away.

That's right. And it's okay. You're gonna meet yourself along the way, and that's how you change. The more you prove to yourself, something can change in you, it then becomes a part of you.

Karen: It's like you said in the book, Santa Claus just doesn't come and deliver it.

No, you asked for it,

Colette: No, just like your transformational teacher is not gonna transform you if you don't do the work.

Robyn: That is key.

Colette: And they may not even be themselves I always say, take what you like and leave the rest. Take what works for you.

Just take it. And this is what worked for me and now we've seen it work for other people and now we can share it with you guys and it's working for you. You know what I mean?

Robyn: and what's really cool is that you created something that has not been done before, which Karen, I love to celebrate.

Like even more like you did really? You are forging a new path and you know it works 'cause it has worked for you, yeah. And that,

Karen: And this could be a doorway for people who maybe don't believe in astrology necessarily, who don't feel like they can [00:49:00] meditate. This is something, as you said in the beginning, we can all do.

Robyn: And we didn't even within this conversation, if you were not driving when or walking while doing it like just drawing that circle. Go home and do it. Draw that circle. Think of what Colette was saying in terms of that feeling. in that gratitude and wonder and awe, what does that feel like?

And then just draw that circle. 'cause you'll immediately feel it.

Colette: I wanna share something really weird that just happened that I did the other day that actually helped. There's all this talk. For a lot of women, and again, this is a tricky topic, but the whole weight loss thing has become such a thing, And I had an eating disorder when I was young and can't really am not a good candidate for any of those even. And I'm constantly got 10, 15 pounds up and down and up and down. So it bothers me, So the other day I decided since I can't do any of those things what I asked the universe to remove the food noise.

Robyn: Yes.

Colette: I'm not kidding you. So I did a whole thing. I entered the portal, which is part of [00:50:00] the book. And this is not in the book, But it's I'm actually thinking about doing something like this with maybe Dr. Mindy Peltz or somebody that, one of my friends who actually in this world, an actual doctor, and try it first and see what happens.

But I didn't have any food noise for two days. At all. Like I have food noise. Like it talks to me like, what am I going to eat? And it was weird because the food thing has been the biggest thing for me.

Karen: Yeah. Wow.

Colette: But for some of us who cannot, like I can't afford for my bulimia to get triggered, or anorexic. ' cause I was anorexic in my twenties, then I was bulimic later. So I can't afford that. it's not for me. It doesn't mean it's not for you or somebody else. It's just not for me. But I recognize that maybe I could draw.

Maybe I could just,

Robyn: I love that. I would imagine there's something to that.

Colette: No, I'm gonna, I'm gonna

Karen: test.

Robyn: Oh, I can't wait right here. Because I think,

Colette: yeah, that would

Robyn: be a miracle.

Karen: It's that neurons in your brain thing, right?

Colette: so I'm drawing now every couple days and seeing if it works.

cause it can work for so many things.

Robyn: Totally

Colette: So I'm gonna see [00:51:00] if I can get a bunch of women together and see if it'll work for them.

Robyn: Oh, I'm

Colette: excited. Definitely. Let's try it. 30 day trial.

Robyn: Why not? Yeah.

Colette: We'll stay in touch with that and we'll see.

Robyn: I would love to,

Colette, this has been such a magical hour. We learn so much. I think everyone listening needs to pick up the art of manifesting. Give it a go.
